IAN
IFIELD

Raised in a small town on the South Coast of England, surrounded by the oldest cinemas in the country and nothing to do, the choice was simple. Cinema equalled life. Every possible moment was spent in front of the big screen. Living for the cool, the weird and the iconic.

Then came the rev of a chainsaw, one helluva chin and a home movie camera. Horror was everything but so was fun. Inspiring my brothers and I to make gnarly, blocky stop-motion animations and death-defying stunt videos. My work has since matured, only slightly, using genre as a gateway into worlds and stories past, present and unexplored. Stories that exploit history, lore and folktales. Focusing on characters who have to learn, empathise and fight tooth and nail in order to survive the horrifying circumstances thrust upon them. But ever at the core of it all is fun.

All with the aim of wanting to define the next era of British cinema, filling it with genre, fun and heart. Always with one eye towards its own roots but ever looking forwards to its very, very bright and blood-splattered future.
